Abstract

Precision agriculture (PA) utilizes new technologies to enhance field-level management in crop cultivation. Through the utilization of data analytics, satellite imaging, and diverse sensors, PA seeks to enhance crop yields while reducing environmental impact. Artificial intelligence (AI) significantly enhances these skills by facilitating more precise forecasts regarding soil, diseases, pests, and weeds, optimizing resource management, and improving decision-making processes. This paper examines the various applications of AI in precision agriculture, emphasizing the advantages and obstacles linked to these innovations. It discusses several AI-based technologies and software that can assist farmers in tailoring their agricultural methods. It elucidates the several hurdles presently hindering the application of these advanced technologies. The primary challenges of data collecting, data ownership, and data privacy, along with the substantial costs associated with deploying an AI-based system, are examined. The assessment additionally emphasizes forthcoming AI technologies in agriculture, such as climate forecasting, precision livestock management, and vertical farming.
